Whippets range from the larger of his cousin (26-30) pounds, or the miniature (6-10) pounds, and their life expectancy is 12-15 years.

This breed is gentle, submissive, and affectionate. They are dependent and peaceful, and become very attached to their masters. They are very playful and intelligent, and learn quickly. The Italian Greyhound has an awesome personality and are entertaining. They are often naughty and aware of it too. Importantly enough you should also see the funny side of what the naughtyness is and not allow your pet to take advantage of you.

This breed can be difficult to house break, persistance and consistency is the key.

This breed is very sensitive to cold environments and should wear a sweater for warmth and protection in colder climates as well as winter weather.

The Italian Greyhound is a low maintance pet regarding grooming. Only bathe as needed, throughly dry and keep warm. No brushing is needed due to little shedding. And use of a soft towel or chamois cloth to wipe their coat will keep it silky and gleaming.
